***Please work with your child every day: the text book material based on the syllabus, listen to the textbook CD, do the writing homework weekly (3 rows), finished the 《workbook》 if your child hasn’t completed in the class, understand the greeting and be able to use greeting/dialogue to the real life。 ***请家长每天都跟孩子做好以下工作:根据大纲预习和复习课本内容,听课本CD,完成每周的写字作业,如果孩子没有做完当天课堂上的《练习册》要在家完成,学会听懂和应用日常称呼和对话。

2016---2017,文化一班学年总结(请家长保存,与孩子在家好好复习,“温故而知新,可以为师矣”感谢家长朋友的热心支持!):

2016年秋季学期:

1. 完成课本要求的六篇课文:礼貌用语,中文数字,身体部位,以及6个元音和声调。

2. 中国文化:从认识中国地理/地图,到观看长城的图片和中国舞龙舞狮的壮观录像。

3. 中国儿童歌曲:A. 《一二三四五六七,我的朋友在哪里》,B. 《两只老虎》, C. 《头儿肩膀膝脚趾》, D. 《小白兔乖乖,把门儿开开》。

4. 中文书写:会读和正确书写部分笔画和20个简单汉字:一二三四五六七八九十,人口手,上中下,日月水火。要求6岁入学的三个学生能正确书写自己的中文名字。

2017年春季学期

1. 完成课本要求的六篇课文以及辅音和声调。强调应用礼貌用语和家庭成员称呼。

2. 中国文化(习俗):1月:春节,2月:元宵节,4月:清明节,5月:端午节。

3. 中国寓言故事:1月:《千里鹅毛》,2月:《孔融让梨》,3月:《李白:铁杵成针》, 4月:《狼来了》, 5月《龟兔赛跑》。

4. 中国儿童歌曲/诗词:A. 《小白兔乖乖》(春晚表演), B. 《一只小虾游呀游》, C. 《天上有太阳,画里有太阳》,D. 《幸福拍手歌》, E. 《骆宾王:咏鹅诗词》.

5.中文书写: 会读和正确书写部分偏旁部首和29个独体字:百千万,大小,山石田土,木禾米竹,刀工车舟,前后左右,耳目舌头,坐立走。

6. 希望4岁入学的学生能认读自己的中文名字,开始可以跟着笔画书写中文名字。暑假期间希望家长可以在家督促孩子练习书写中文名字和每周都与孩子一起读课本和一起复习一年里学过的中国歌曲/诗词。感谢家长朋友的支持和帮助!

Homework for 9-10-2016 ( 1st day of school) 第一天的回家作业:

1.    Please bring in 3 items about China/Chinese Culture from home.  You may print out from the web, bring in the picture about the culture/custom/food, or any kind of Chinese items.  Please also make sure your child can describe the 3 items in the class. Thanks! 从家里带3样有关中国/文化的东西。可以从网上打印。请确认孩子知道如何描述那3样东西。

2.    Color the 1st day of school worksheet (handout): pencil grip/how to hold a pencil when your child write/draw and how to sit on the chair in order to write. 第一天的涂色作业:请家长监督:孩子正确的握笔姿势和坐姿,这样孩子以后写字和画画才会更好。

3.    New Song: where are my friends? 儿歌: 我的朋友在哪里

4.    We will start the new lesson next week. Homework package will be sent home as well.  我们下周开始讲新课。写字作业本会发给学生们。

Culture One---May 2016 Schedule:


1.   May 7th: Review Lessons 1---3, Basic Chinese strokes, basic Chinese characters & Chinese numbers, family member in Chinese, greeting and songs.

2.   May 14th:

A.   9:00am—9:30am: Review Lessons 4—6, some basic Chinese characters.

B.   9:30am—9:50am: Final Exam for Lessons 4—6.

C.   10:10am—11:00am: Reading Competition from Lesson 6 Transportation, page 24.  The winner will attend the school competition on May 21st from 9:30am—10:30am.

3.   May 21st, last day of school before 2016 summer break:

A.   Handout to everyone--Summer Break Chinese Homework package: including writing your Chinese name 2 pages and all basic Chinese characters we had learned in Culture one class.

B.   Report Cards & Awards to winners from the reading competition, perfect homework awards, perfect attendance awards, etc.

C.   Have a safe and happy summer break!  I will see you all in the new school year—Culture 2 class.  The 1st day of Chinese School for the new school year is: September 10, 2016.

P.S.: our Chinese school picnic will be hold on May 21, 2016 ( last day of school ).

1.We have made the 1st Chinese Book about 12 months in the class last week!  Please make sure your child able to read their 1st Chinese Book at home every day.  You may use this little book as their bedtime story.  We will make more Chinese books in the future.  I am very proud of your child’s progress! 我们上周每个学生都做了一本《12个月的中文小书》,这是我们的第一本中文书!学生们都非常兴奋。我们将会做更多的中文小书来巩固中文知识。请让孩子每天都读一遍给您听听。老师会在课堂上抽查,看谁读得最棒。


2.     2.Please review lesson 5 and listen to the CD with your child at home. 请在家与您的孩子预习和复习第五课,听课本CD.

2.   2. Dialogue说: greeting & family tree members 礼貌用语“你好” , 加上家人称呼:爸爸好,妈妈好,爷爷好,奶奶好 等等—请用课堂练习“家庭树”来训练孩子应用家人称呼用语;

3.   3. Read读: text book Lesson 4---four seasons in Chinese 读课本第四课—四个季节

Culture: Chinese New Year—Dancing & Song “Happy New Year” 中国文化—春晚表演的舞蹈和唱歌“新年好”。

Parents: From January 16 to February 13, 2016, we will focus on Chinese New Year—Spring Festival.  We will watch two more videos about Spring Festival; we will learn how to make dumplings in the class by the use of real dumpling skin; we will learn how Chinese people celebrate Spring Festival around worldwide.  Our class will full of Spring Festival atmosphere during these 4 weeks, please feel free to dress your child in Red if possible before they come to the class for these 4 weeks.

我们将会从一月16号到二月13号,着重讲中国春节习俗。我们将会增加观看有关春节的故事和风俗的录像;我们还会在课堂上学习做水饺(用真的水饺皮);我们也会了解中国人在世界各地怎样过年。为了增加中国春节气氛,希望家长让孩子穿上红色衣服上课(这四周)。

2016 春季学期更新,文化一班: 许瑶坤老师

1.   一月和二月,我们会以春节晚会表演节目为主题,培养学生们的自信心和团队合作精神;

2.   感谢家长和小朋友们的支持和持续兴趣,为了让学生们有一个更系统和更完整的中文学习氛围,我们将会在课堂上增加观看和了解与中国文化有关的民俗和故事;

3.   开学第二周开始,每个学生将会有一套本学期的写字练习本,共10页。请家长复印,让孩子在家增加练习书写汉字(熟能生巧);同时,请家长监督孩子的握笔和写字姿势;

4.   本学期将会加强学生们的小组对话能力,对话以礼貌用语和天气语句为主,不断巩固使用中文数字和口语交流能力;

5.   本学期的课堂活动有: 户外踏雪,课间游戏,课堂上小组唱歌比赛,个人写字比赛和考勤小彩贴评点;

6.   本学期的两个小测验和一个期末考试内容:课本要求掌握的知识(第四课到第六课)和写字练习本里的汉字和句子

Spring 2016 semester update, Culture 1:

1.   From Jan. to Feb.: we will focus on CNY performance practicing, we want to build up every student’s confidence & team work on the stage;

2.   We will add Video stories about Chinese custom & moral stories;

3.   Every student will have a homework package (total 10 pages). Parents:  please make copies & ask your child to practice writing Chinese frequently (practice makes perfect).  Please monitor that your child is using the correct position to hold the pencil when he/she writing Chinese at home;

4.   We will do more dialogue trainings as a team-work project weekly, we will focus on dialogues regarding greeting & weather, along with Chinese numbers & oral skill;

5.   Our classroom activities include: outdoor snow kicking, break time games, singing competition, Chinese writing competition & perfect attendance sticker counting award;

6.   Our two quizzes & one final exam content include: textbook material (from Lesson 4 to Lesson 6) & Chinese characters in your homework package.
