2015春季学期更新  /  Spring  2015  Update:

 


亲爱家长和小朋友们:

感谢你们对文化三班的热情和持之以恒的支持!

2015春季学期将作出如下更新:

1. 每周继续课前听写(讲台旁边的白板上), 当堂修改;

2. 每周学习课本新知识和继续练习书写4-6个汉字/造句;

3. 2015年1月和2月, 从9:45开始操练春晚表演(共四周);

4. 2015年从3月到5月, 适当增加学习电脑中文输入/网络百度翻译(请家长让孩子们带电脑上课);

5. 中国文化的补充将会有元宵节(堂上学做元宵)和清明节;

6. 奖励(请看教学大纲), 游戏, 户外写生/接近大自然的课外教堂(看天气):

7. 本学期共有两个小测验和一个期末考试.

Thank you very much for your kind and consistently support!

Below is the list of the update for the Spring 2015 semester:

1. Continue doing Dictation (write down Chinese on the white board) and make

correction right away weekly;

2. Learning textbook material & writing Chinese characters/Chinese sentences/wk;

3. We will practice the Chinese New Year performance from 9:45am in Jan.& Feb.;

4. We will study Computer skills: including Chinese input and internet translation (Please bring in computers to school with your child from March to May 2015);

5. Chinese culture addition including: yuan xiao jie(to learn how to make yuan xiao) & qing ming jie;

6.  Awards (see syllabus), games, outdoor learning (weather permitted);

7. There are 2 quizzes and 1 final exam in this semester.

Welcome to our Chinese Culture 3 class!

 

(I)Our Learning Objectives are:

(1) Be able to speak simple Chinese dialog along with greetings;

(2) Be able to write 200 Chinese characters at the end of school year;

(3) Be able to sing some Chinese songs or recite Chinese poems;

(4) Be able to read the textbook material at home after each class;

(5) Be able to retell some Chinese custom, culture or educational stories.

 

(II)Our Requirements to each student are:

(a) Please come to the class on time--our class president will take attendance;

(b) Parents, please sign your child’s completed weekly writing homework;

(c) Please bring in school supplies: textbook, school folder, pencils, and crayons;

(d) Please review class material and listen to the textbook CD at home(Independent Learner);

(e) Please check our class webpage@<Westlakechineseschool.org> for Homework and updated Award Center.

 

(III)Assessment:

10% Attendance + 20% Class Participation + 20% Homework+ 50% Quiz/Exam

春季学期更新/ Update for Spring 2014 Semester:

Welcome back to our Chinese Culture Two Class for the Spring 2014 semester!

欢迎回到我们文化二班, 2014 春季学期!

(1) We will follow the Spring 2014 Syllabus to learn our new lessons in textbook: Chinese Paradise--3B (See the attached excel file below).

 (2) Homework Reminder:

    (A) <<Workbook>>: we will work on the <<workbook>> soon after we complete the lesson in the same week in the class.  No <<Workbook>> homework to take home.  However, you may review and try to work on some parts if you perfer to do it in advance at home.

    (B) <<Writing Worksheet>>(handouts): we will continue learning to write new Chinese characters every week.  We will write approximately 4 to 8 new words in a week.  Students need to complete their <<Writing Worksheet>>at home if they haven’t finished in the class.
    (C) Song or Chinese poem review: I will forward a link for you to enjoy the video at home.

 (3) Weekly homework in the school webpage under “Culture Two”(WCCA  school webpage: westlakechinseschool.org), I will also announce in the class.   Please remind me if you have any new plan; therefore, I can remember to forward any new messages or homework reminder to your parents’ e-mail address.

    Welcome back to our Chinese Culture Two Class!

 

     I amYaokun Xu.  This is my second year teaching at Westlake Chinese School.  I look forward to another great year with your child.
     The Chinese language and culture is full of fun and challenge, but learning Chinese consistently will guide your child to a brighter future.  I am very thankful for your continue interest, pride and support in our Chinese culture.
     We will continue using the textbook title “Chinese Paradise -the fun way to learn Chinese (3A & 3B)”.  In addition to the textbook knowledge, we will learn many Chinese ethical and educational stories.  We also will study some Chinese poems and childrens' songs.
     Class activities will include art work, games, video stories, morning exercises, health tips and four kinds of competitions to implement the fun way to learn Chinese.  Prizes will be awarded to winners in each competition.    
    There will be homework assignments every week. All writing homework must be submitted to the teacher before class. Please keep all writing worksheets in the school folder.  There will be two quizzes and one exam in each semester.
